HONKY TONK MUSIC ASSOCIATION LATEST BREAKING NEWS

February 26, 2026: Breaking News: Honky Tonk Music Association Announces that Tayla Lynn has won the Honky Tonk Music Association 1st Daughter Award and Sunshine Award. Bryangela Dusti Roads explains in her own words The Association’s decision.

“I met Mrs. Loretta in the 90s. It was when she had the cast on her arm. I was working at The Nashville Network as video production editor for TNN’s television show American Skyline.

I was going out to lunch, and Mrs. Loretta was coming up the walkway outside of the TNN building. They were getting ready to rehearse for The Legends in Country Music celebration on The Grand Ole Opry. Mrs. Loretta was going to rehearse with Travis Tritt that day for their performance. I stopped Mrs. Loretta and told her that I had been going around town singing her songs and got my 1st standing ovation singing Coal Miner’s Daughter one Saturday night at Gilley’s singing with The Texas Dirt Road Band. Mrs. Loretta said so seriously “Honey, They always told me I had a black voice. We both laughed and she held both my hands as we talked for 20 minutes. She told me to come see her at her office over by Applebee’s. She said that she had been fighting to get back her songs. Then she told me to make sure I protect the songs so that I wouldn’t have to go through what she had to go through. That afternoon, I watched from my office, Travis Tritt, Mrs. Loretta, and another artist rehearse for The Legends in Country Music performance.

That conversation with Mrs. Loretta was the beginning of Honky Tonk Music Association. Mom always told me to put the money where no one could steal it and only use it when you need it. I understand now, what Mom really meant. I cried when The Association nominated Tayla Lynn. Mrs. Loretta’s Spirit comes out of every note Tayla sings and every time I hear Tayla laugh, I hear Mrs. Loretta’s heart. I know in my heart that Tayla is the song Mrs. Loretta wanted to make sure was protected.”

Tayla has also won The Sunshine Award for how she has fought to overcome the struggles she’s had deal with.

The 1st Annual Inaugural Awards winners were selected on December 30, 2025 for the 2025-2026 season. The selection of winners are based on a specific performance, not likes, or views or followers. Likes, views and followers can be purchased on the social media platforms, but The Association looks first at the sound to see if the artists sound fits with the direction of the Association. The Association will then watch social media and, if an artist or band is being considered, the Association follows the artists and evaluates their commitment to their craft. The winners are chosen for a specific performance and the performance must be on YouTube.

The Association does not seek out artists. Honky Tonk Horizon Awards, Band of the Year, Entertainer of the Year and Affinity Radio Award winners are not known by Honky Tonk Music Association prior to the consideration of winners. Any contact would be social media posts once the artist is under consideration for an award.

The 1st Annual Inaugural Awards Ceremony will be held in 2026. The winners are eligible to perform and compete for all remaining awards except First Lady of Honky Tonk Award. There is only one First Lady of Honky Tonk and we will give her her flowers while she lives.

The Vintage Explosion is Lighting Up 2026!

Honky Tonk Music Association is a Dream Come True for Guardian Angel Cowboy Copus

Honky Tonk Music Association is a Dream Come True for Guardian Angel Cowboy Copus. Music Veteran comes out of the shadows and into the limelight and initiates a much needed and decisive change in the music industry with the launch of Honky Tonk Music Association.

Country Music Singer Bryangela Dusti Roads tells the music industry in her own words about this course correction implemented by her for the music industry.

“Honky Tonk Music Association didn’t just spring up. It began in 1994 when I came to Nashville with six bags of luggage and a microphone, and even before that when I used to watch Hee Haw and Grand Ole Opry as a little girl.

I chose Alan Jackson as the Grandfather of Honky Tonk Award winner because Alan has never failed to fight for country music. Honky Tonk Music Association is following Alan ‘s footsteps.

Murder was committed down on Music Row, and industry executives have operated with a whithered heart for more than 30 years now. Murder was committed when the industry left behind the heart of country music. The casualties are enormous. Even our most beloved artists have felt the disappointment of industry greed and a lifetime passion turn into sorrow over stolen songs and copyrights.

Honk Tonk Music Association is the heart of country music and the music industry with this course correction that will lead music industry back to a time when music was fun and focus on authenticity over money. It was Cowboy Copus’ dream to be able to start a record label by artists for artists. He knew that artists needed protection from industry greed and corruption. Most importantly, Cowboy Copas wanted to protect the music and the sound and songwriters.

Honky Tonk Music Association Horizon winners, Band of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year and Affinity Award winners are the beneficiaries Cowboy Copus ‘ dream to change the direction of the music industry. These winners are at different stages in their careers and Honky Tonk Music Association will provide opportunities for them to possibly quit their day jobs and use the Association’s resources to help promote their talents and help them earn money doing what they love. All winners were selected and hand picked by veteran country music singer Bryangela Dusti Roads.

One of Dusti’s first jobs in the music industry was working in “The Vault” at Acuff Rose Publishing/Opryland Music Group. Her task was to review the contracts and wills of the dead songwriters and make sure the correct beneficiary was receiving the royalties. Cowboy Copus wanted to help protect the songwriters and was taking steps to realize this dream before he died in the plane crash in 1963. Bryangela Dusti Roads as Founder of Honky Tonk Music Association, is following the footsteps of Cowboy Copus and all the Guardian Angels of Honky Tonk Music Association.

“Thinkin’ of You” The Vintage Explosion Pop Surprise

“Thinkin’ of You” release by The Vintage Explosion surprise! The newly released song is not blues, but straight up Pop!

When I first heard the song, I was a little disappointed that it didn’t have that rich soulful sound from Will Hitchell that we all have come to love.

But then I remembered what country music singer Bryangela Dusti Roads said when she selected The Vintage Explosion as Entertainer of the Year and Band of the Year for the 2026 Awards Ceremony for Honky Tonk Music Association. Dusti doesn’t put much faith in musicians because she has had to deal with them for over 30 years and find them to be mostly arrogant and full of themselves and can self destruct at the most crucial time in their careers when they can’t hear constructive criticism. For Bryangela Dusti Roads to select Will Hitchell and The Vintage Explosion The Band of The Year is an honor for the band especially when Bryangela Dusti Roads is devoted to country music.

Bryangela Dusti Roads will also be honoring Will Hitchell the coveted Affinity Radio Award which is a lifetime award. Dusti states that those awards for The Vintage Explosion are given at this moment and time because she believes that The Vintage Explosion will chart the future direction of the music industry. Dusti on behalf of Affinity Publishing Group Inc and Honky Tonk Music Association have no regrets in selecting The Vintage Explosion as 2026 Band of the Year and 2026 Entertainer of the Year.

Thinkin’ About You written by Great Britain native, Will Hitchell is a pop song all day long. It will be a bigger hit if it were to be released on Pop radio. It makes me think of Wham and makes me want to hear The Vintage Explosion sing Air Supply’s song Making Love Out of Nothing at All.

I will issue a word of caution to The Vintage Explosion. Always know and remember the original plan for your group. Keep feeding the fans the music they want to hear that keeps them listening. Most importantly know where you are.

We agree with country music singer Bryangela Dusti Roads, no-one can sing over you at this moment and time. All of the Band collectively make the sound we like to hear. All of your concerts are timeless and authentic. It is your original authenticity that will elevate you to the level of followers befitting, according to Bryangela Dusti Roads, the best band in the world at this moment and time. Just have fun!

Honky Tonk Music Association selection of Elvis as a Guardian Angel of Honky Tonk is proven by history.

Throughout his career, Elvis Presley maintained a deep connection to country music, eventually being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. His catalog includes both early Sun Records rockabilly and late-career Nashville-style ballads.
As of January 2026, these are widely considered Elvis Presley’s top country songs based on chart performance and critical rankings:
Chart-Topping Hits
I Forgot to Remember to Forget (1955): His first #1 hit on the country charts, this Sun Records release is a cornerstone of his early country-fied style.
Moody Blue (1977): The title track of his final studio album, it was his last #1 single on the country charts before his death.
Guitar Man (1967/1981): Originally from the Clambake soundtrack, a 1981 remix featuring new instrumentation became his final posthumous #1 country hit.
Essential Country Performances
Funny How Time Slips Away: A Willie Nelson-penned classic from the landmark album Elvis Country (I’m 10,000 Years Old). Many critics consider Presley’s version to be the definitive recording.
Blue Moon of Kentucky: A rockabilly reimagining of Bill Monroe’s bluegrass waltz, it served as the B-side to his first single and helped bridge the gap between country and rock.
Make the World Go Away: A soulful rendition of the Hank Cochran composition, recorded in Nashville during the sessions for his dedicated country album.
Kentucky Rain: Though also a pop success, this song’s storytelling and instrumentation have made it a staple of his country catalog.
I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry: While he never recorded a formal studio version, his live performance during the 1973 Aloha from Hawaii special is legendary.
Top Country Album Recommendation
If you want to hear Elvis fully immersed in the genre, listen to the 1971 album Elvis Country (I’m 10,000 Years Old), which features many of the tracks listed above, including “I Really Don’t Want to Know” and “There Goes My Everything”
